Universal Postal Union has listed 160 country which requires postal codes in August 2021.
The Postal Code system was first introduced in Nepal in November 1991 by the Postal Services Department and the Nepal postal services use five-digit numbers as postal codes. The first digit of the postal code denotes a region, the second and third number indicates a district and the last two digits represent post offices in Nepal.
