Koshi Hospital was established in 1947 BS (1890AD) by the Rana Prime Minister Bir Samsher. It was then named as P.Bir 1 Lumber (पी. वीर १ लम्बर) and was established in Rangeli.
Koshi Hospital then called P.Bir 1 Lumber (पी. वीर १ लम्बर) is the first hospital of Nepal. Although Bir Hospital was also established in the same year but Bir Samsher initiated the establishment of hospital from the eastern Nepal on numbering basis so Koshi Hospital was established first.
Book Published by Bir Hospital on the occasion of its 100th year also stated that Koshi Hospital is the oldest hospital of Nepal

6 months agoThis is an old hospital adopting modernization we can prebook tickets online one day before visiting. This crowdy hospital is serving thousands of patients per day but not properly managed. If it could be managed properly , it could be among the top hospitals in Province I. I have an attached photo which explains how to buy an online ticket. If you are patient with swastha bima then you have to register as the name written in the bima card with correct spellings and write the bima number in reference.
