In Rajbansi language, the term “Nicha” refers to the cherished prawn fish that thrives abundantly in these waters. Additionally, “Jhadi” represents the area with bushes (ghari). It is this harmonious coexistence of prawn fish and the verdant surroundings that inspired the name Nichajhoda for this remarkable wetland.
